Just thought I would update you all on the B7500 hydro I bought last september. Just rolled 110 hours today, and everything is still working perfectly. Great little tractor... no complaints whatsoever.

Is it normal for hydraulics in general to become less effecient as the fluid gets warmer? I noticed after using my B7500 for a few hours moving dirt with the fel, that the hyraulics which power the loader, lift arms, and power steering started to become a little weaker. I realize the hydraulics of this little tractor are not all that powerful to begin with, but after everything got hot even the power steering got a little stiff when I had a load in the bucket. The loader was not powerful enough lift the front of the tractor off the ground either, when normally it will do it... slowly, but it will do it. And don't get me wrong,I am not complaining about the strength of the hydraulics... If it had too much more power it would be dangerous with such a small tractor.

I too own a B7500, and I don't believe what you are describing is the "nature of the beast." My belly mower drive shaft slides of slicker than snot on a glass doorknob. I would say that there is either some rust on the splines, or perhaps a burr. Check it out... either one of those problems can be taken care of easily. The rust can be removed with some wd-40 and a wire brush... a burr can be removed with a file or a small sharpening stone. If neither of those is the culprit, I would say that somebody missed a tolerance somewhere. And amen to the loader making it easy to take the mower on and off.

Hi Jeff. I bought a B7500 Hydrostatic last september. It came with R4 industrial tread, the 272 front end loader, and a 54" belly mower. All that stuff came to a total price of $13,000 plus tax. I am not sure what the attachmants on my tractor cost seperately, and I don't know what a rear mount finish mower or a brush hog would cost either... but I would say that you are in the ballpark with your $9,700 quote. By the way, its a great tractor, and wouldn't trade it for the world. hope I have helped.

Yes, the B7500 has only a high and low range... To tell you the truth you couldn't hardly feel the "jerk" in low range, but it was pretty significant in high range. The only way you really felt it in low range was if you were pulling a load. It was also more pronouced when the ambient temp got down around 20 or 30 degrees. I am sure Kubota is aware of this little glitch... if you dig deep enough you'll find info about it like I did... I wonder if someday they will offer a new set of valves that will actually be able to do what the original ones were intended to do. I doubt it... I don't think it is a common enough problem, nor is it damaging to the tractor in any way.

I am pretty sure you are right about the pumps tomg. The pump for the power steering and the lift arms is located on the engine itself, while the pump for the hydrostatic trans. is in the tranny. Proof is in the fact that you can press the clutch in, and still have your power steering and 3pt hitch, but try and move the tractor and your gonna say right where you are. I also think that the FEL runs off the same pump as the steering and 3pt. I would double check for a screen somewhere on the transmission... I don't know alot about your model of tractor, but my guess is that there is one there somewhere.

Todd, I have not had any difficulty what-so-ever using any implements on my tractor with regard to the lack of position control on the 3 pt hitch. Like Bird said, it's not that the implement is all the way up or all the way down, it's just that there is no corresponding lever position for each position of the lift arms... there is one lever position for picking them up, one for putting them down, and one position between the two that holds the arms at whatever height you desire. And to deal with the implement moving up or down to quickly when trying to set your height, remember that there is a knob under the seat which opens and closes a valve so that you can control the speed of descent. You can slow the fall of the heaviest of implements to a point where you could be waiting all day for it to get to the bottom... or you can drop your implement like a bad habit and send it crashing into the ground. Personally, regarding position control, I can take it or leave it. I have used tractors with it, and without it, and it's pretty much just a matter of getting used to whatever your using. And just for your information, I got the 272 loader, 54" mid mount mower deck, industrial treads, and calcium in the rear tires (which I think was free), for $13,000 even... plus tax of course. From what I have been told I got one heck of a deal... I think it was because at the time I had a John Deere ordered, and the Kubota people wanted my business... THEY GOT IT!! I think Bird hit the nail right on the head... You've probably talked yourself into buying new, and you will not ever regret it. And he's right about the 4 wheel drive too... and it doesn't just make a little difference, it makes all the difference in the world. My tiny little 7500, which is perfect for my 4 acres, can go places and do things that my fathers 8N would have never done. When I imagine my tractor only having 2 wheel drive, I only think of all the things I couldn'd do with it. I can imagine how much more versatile a 2710 would be than my 7500 too... with all that extra hp and weight. If you do decide to buy new, you would have my support... for what it's worth.

Speaking of loading stuff, I have an interesting story. I once new a guy who hauled a rather large backhoe in the bed of his tri-axle dump tuck. To watch him load it was quite a show. As I describe this, remember that the floor of the bed on a tri-axle is around 4 feet off the ground. He would actually put the loader on the back of the dump bed, lift the front of the tractor into the bed, then turn the seat around and balance the rear end of the tractor into the air with the back hoe. Once the tractor's rear wheels were higher than the bed, he would push the whole thing into the bed with the hoe. I have never seen anything like it... And he unloaded it the same way. Thought you might enjoy this.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I have a B7500 tractor, and the headlights are not all that bright. I think they are standard automotive bulbs, for which I have seen halogen replacements which are far brighter. I was unsure though if they might be a little too hot and maybe would melt something. I doubt it, but I don't know for sure. If worst comes to worst, I am going to mount some lights on my ROPS. I will spend quite a bit of during the winter plowing snow after dark, and better lights would be nice.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my dealer has come thru for me. They figured out exactly what was causing the glitch from their Kubota tech support guy, and they are going to fix it right away. They said something about removing a cover from the tranny, pulling two plugs and an assembly out, and replacing or modifying a spring to lessen some of the pressure that it exherts on a check ball I believe. No big deal. I guess all I had to do was just ask them to fix it. I was probably beeing a little too shy the first time I talked to them. When I told them that something just didn't seem right, and that I really would like to have it looked in to a little closer, they whole heartedly agreed. And thank you to everyone who gave me input on this matter here at the ctb, it really made a difference in how I approached the matter.

Thanks so much, Art, for taking the time to help me out. I will get a hold of my dealer tomorrow and see what they can do for me. They are really nice people, who I am sure will get this fixed for me as soon as they can figure out exactly how to do it. At the time that I took the tractor up there, they had not yet heard back from Kubota, so the best they could do was tell me to wait until my 50hrs service. I don't blame them for that. Maybe Kubota has gotten back to them by now. I will keep you informed as to how things turn out.

I was wondering if there could be a problem with my b7500, or if perhaps it needs an adjustment on the Hydrostatic tranny. When the tractor is in high range, regardless of engine rpm, the tractor jerks a little when you first begin pressing the pedal down. After you get past that inital position where you get the jerk, it works very smoothly. When in low range, the tractor is perfectly smooth from dead stop to full speed. The tractor has done this since the day I brought it home. I did not notice this little jerk when I test drove a 2410... it worked perfectly smooth from a dead stop to full speed, regardless of whether I was in high or low range. The tractor has 30 hours on it, and everyhing seems to be working perfectly, except for the jerk. Maybe the jerk is supposed to be there??

yeah birdy, I agree with you I think. I have had great luck with Pennzoil 15w40 in the past, and as long as it's not too thick for my tractor, I think that's what I am going to use. I have this gnawing sensation in the back of my head about synthetic oils, but after reading the thread on Petro vs Synthetics, I think I'll just not worry about it. I have one question though, didn't pennzoil and Quaker State merge or something like that? I wonder if, since the merger, they changed any of their formulas. Most of the experience that I have with pennz 1540 was from several years ago, and I know the bottle has changed slightly since then. I think it used to say specifically that it was for diesels right on the bottle, but now it's reccommended for gas too. I don't know much about any of this, so any help would be appreciated. I guess maybe I should just stop fretting and use the stuff... it's just that I love my tractor oh so much.

Just figured out that even if there was an implement that would pick these things up, it wouldn't be good to use it with a tractor as heavy as my B7500. When you drive over walnuts, they get pressed into the soil, where their husk rots off and kills the grass due to their acidity. After they are pressed into the soil, the only way to get them out is to dig them out with a hand rake or something of the sort. Therefore, unless you have an attachment that goes on the front of the tractor, you're going to smash at least a few nuts right into the ground. To put it simple, I give up. There's just nothing on the market that will pick these things up. At least not something that is reasonably priced. I have resigned myself to just picking them up by hand.

Touche!! You see fellas, I don't have a back hoe, so the only way to get the stump out is with the bucket. Here's what I did. I dug out around the root system with the loader, loosening the whole base of the tree. Leaving the tree connected to the stump gives extra leverage because you can put force way above the stump. It really wasn't that hard on the tractor. No harder than trying to wrestle a big boulder out of the ground. This loader doesn't seem to have as much power as I am used to on a loader... It won't pick the rear wheels of the tractor off the ground, but then again I do have the rear wheels loaded... probably 700 to 800 pounds. I guess that's all part of not being able to destroy the tractor just by using the loader... probably a wise engineering decision.

YES! Spend many happy hours on my beautiful ORANGE tractor. My wife said that a smile never left my face the whole time I was on it yesterday. By the way, it's nearly 7:30! I have to get out there and get that puppy warmed up!
